shepherds, minIsters, deacons & office staff

Our congregation is blessed to be under the direction of four Godly and dedicated men who we call shepherds or elders. Creekside is served by 10 deacons who manage the day-to-day running of the church. We also have two ministers to evangelize and provide for the spiritual needs of our members and our community.  Our goal is to share the gospel with everyone, regardless of age or language. We have a passion for people, our city and our world.

our deacons

Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.  But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless.  Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.  Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.  For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.  1 Timothy 3:8-13

office staff

  • randy daw - minister

Randy is in his second tenure as preaching minister for this congregation. He and his wife, Debbie, with their four sons, first preached here from 1985 through 1993. He and Debbie came back to us in 2006. In addition to preaching sermons, teaching Bible classes, and writing articles, Randy finds fulfillment working with children. He has planned and led a Vacation Bible School every year (except one) since 1975. He also enjoys personal evangelism and relationship counseling.

Randy has many interests besides preaching the gospel locally. He is a charter member of the Greenville Daybreak Rotary Club, and frequently serves on local civic boards and participates with volunteer efforts.

Randy is intensely interested in foreign missions, especially in taking the gospel to places where it has never been heard. He has planned and participated in church plantings in Russia, Ukraine, Guyana, and Mexico, and is conversant in both Russian and Spanish. His current focus is Mexican missions.

Randy is also an accomplished musician, having once made his living playing trumpet in studios, symphony orchestras, and musical theater. As a former public school band director, he still volunteers to play for or lead amateur musical productions.

Randy’s first musical love, however, is gospel music. He is a prolific composer and arranger of a cappella psalm settings and hymns. He is Music Editor and a contributor for Timeless, a new songbook series written entirely from the Psalms. He also enjoys teaching each summer in singing schools.

Randy has degrees from Abilene Christian University (New Testament), West Texas A&M University (Music), and Pepperdine University (Ministry).

Debbie is retired from Hill College where she worked as a senior programmer/analyst. Debbie leads “Threads of Love,” which is a Creekside caring ministry through use of sewing and needle craft skills.

Debbie and Randy have four grown sons. Jesse is a home health nurse in Fort Worth; Jeremy is an attorney in Berkeley, California; Jonathan is an associate professor at Penn State University; and Phillip is a free-lance electronics engineer in Portland, Oregon.

Since 2012 Randy and Debbie have been blessed to have his parents, Cooper and Ruth Daw, living in the home they share together.
